The year of 2011 proved to be a very exciting and progressive year for PSC Crane & Rigging. We created an internal Strategic Planning Team and developed the foundation of our Strategic Plan. The team drafted PSC's new Vision, Mission and Values statements. We created an Outside Board to drive success of PSC's executive team and hold them accountable. We added new key team members to our expert estimators and project managers department while promoting a couple internal staff. At the same time, PSC acquired another crane and specialized equipment (a new Goldhofer SPMT) to our fleet. Additionally, we opened our Columbus, Ohio regional facility which will allow for continued growth not only in Columbus, but throughout central and northeast Ohio.

Throughout 2012, our Strategic Planning team will solidify our Strategic Plan. We will continue to embrace Professional Management and drive for ultimate efficiencies and accountability throughout the organization. Executive operational staff and fleet equipment will be added in 2012, as well as additional office space for our estimating and project managing team. PSC Crane and Rigging is committed to serving our customers and exceeding their expectations not only in 2012, but for years and years to come. In doing so, we will continue to develop our staff with the skills and knowledge to overcome our customers ever changing challenges.

Tandem Press

PSC recently installed a large tandem press line for the automotive industry. The huge press line was shipped to the US in 400 cases/crates which equated to about 175 truckloads of equipment. Twenty-two of the 175 loads were super loads. The total gross weight of all the assembled press components was 7,250,000 lbs. PSC received unloaded, unpacked, uncrated assembled and installed all of the tandem press line components consisting of a 2,300-ton transfer press, a 1,600-ton transfer press, a 1,200-ton transfer press, and a 1,000-ton transfer press. The tandem press line included eight rolling bolsters, a de-stack feeder system, a robotic sheet loader system, four robotic transfers, four automatic tool changers, and complete sound enclosure. The project also included a 2,300-ton stand-alone press with a rolling bolster that will be used for die trails. PSC was able to put our 500ton J&R Lift-N-Lock gantry system with power links and gantry track to good use throughout the project , and we finished the project safely and on schedule.

EMR Rating: .46

The company has completed yet another successful year with our safety program, with 173,280 work hours without a recordable accident. Through training, safe work habits, and excellent supervision PSC has gone over a 3 year period and amassed a staggering 445,709 hours worked without an OSHA recordable. It is little wonder why PSC has received safety awards from the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation and the SC&RA for 2011. Thanks to our dedicated work force, for their continuing efforts to keep a safe workplace for all.
